Following on from the announcement of testing of the new full electric powerplants to be installed on future Maserati models, the development and production plans for the Trident Brand’s electrified range are now presented. Maserati’s electrification programme starts this year, and the first hybrid car to be built will be the new Maserati Ghibli.
Maserati sparks with a new audacious energy, taking the house of the Trident to the future. This is the story of evolution ignited by the clash between opposing forces, cultures and worlds. Clashes that unite, that become the very catalysts of evolution themselves. Live Audacious – the all-new Maserati Ghibli will be unveiled on 15.07.2020.
Production of the new Maserati GranTurismo and GranCabrio, the Brand’s first cars to adopt 100% electric solutions, will commence in 2021. In addition a new Maserati SUV, intended to play a leading role for the Brand, thanks to its innovative technologies is also expected by 2021.
Maserati have also begun testing of their new super sportscar, the MC20. The arrival of the MC20 is an important event for the Modena-based company, not only because of the racing comeback, but also because it will be the first car to adopt a new engine 100% designed, developed and produced by Maserati itself.
The prototype has been photographed at night in Piazza degli Affari in Milan, below Maurizio Cattelan’s sculpture L.O.V.E., a symbol of Italian audacity in international contemporary art. Now, this marks the start of a period of road and track tests, in various conditions of use, to acquire vital data for the preparation of the car’s final setup.
