Ahead of the presentation of the Revuelto SV by Automobili Lamborghini at this year’s glamourous Pebble Beach event in Monterey, California, Driven Women Magazine was part of an intimate Q&A with select media from the Asia Pacific region, who spoke with Mr Mitja Borkert, the Design Director at Automobili Lamborghini.
The Revuelto SV is the latest V12 Super Veloce in a lineage that began 55 years ago with the first Miura SV. At Lamborghini, SV stands for Super Veloce, signifying an extreme performance variant. It combines even more power, lightweight construction, optimized aerodynamics, and a precise chassis setup for better performance, greater driving pleasure, and passion.
With the Revuelto SV, Lamborghini opens a new chapter in its legendary Super Veloce lineage. Produced in a limited series of 1,963 units, a tribute to the year Automobili Lamborghini was founded, the Revuelto SV is reserved for the brand’s most loyal customers and collectors. It represents an unprecedented evolution in performance, combining the power of a V12 hybrid with uncompromising racing DNA to deliver a super sportscar experience on an entirely new level.
Based on the Lamborghini Revuelto , the brand’s first V12 hybrid supercar delivering over 1,000 CV, the SV variant further optimizes every detail—from aerodynamics to power delivery—reaching a maximum output of 1,065 CV (783 Kw) and a class-leading 1,425 Nm of system torque, while accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in just 2.4 seconds, from 0 to 200 km/h in just 6.7 seconds, with a top speed exceeding 345 km/h. The Revuelto SV is the most powerful and fastest production Lamborghini ever built in Sant’Agata Bolognese.
It is precisely these extreme figures that give rise to what Lamborghini defines as “The Quantum of Driving”: a shift in the driving experience where performance is no longer linear but transforms into something entirely different. “Quantum” captures this change of state, identifying the exact moment when driving reaches its purest form.

Mr Borkert has been in his current role for more than 10 years and his passion for the job remains as strong as ever, as he and the internal Lamborghini design team try to push the boundaries of design and inspire future generations by “giving adrenalin.”
“I want to create spaceships, cars that are out of this world and give people goosebumps when they see one driving by in their daily life. The Lamborghini design DNA goes back to legendary Lambos like the Miura, but for me the Countach is the starting point for their design DNA because it looks like a spaceship and that particular the silhouette of the Countach has become the template for Lamborghini,” said Mr Borkert.
In his office surrounded by sketches and creativity, Mr Borkert uses a very modern and contemporary design process including AI. But for him and his team it is important to underline that a vehicle of the stature of Lamborghini starts with an idea from their minds that they sketch and down then use the technology available to make the dream come to life. He admits that he has a fantastic team and that Lamborghini has also been at the forefront of vehicle design, both in a digital, but also very handcrafted way with hand sketching and modelling still utilised.
“Lamborghini has been using AI technology for a couple of years, carefully and in a way so that the humans are not to be replaced. We use tools and programs to visualise ideas faster, for designers it is a wonderful tool. I’m attempting to master the technology before I get substituted by it [laughs], as I see many opportunities along the design process the speed up development,” admitted Mr Borkert.
As the new top-performance model for Lamborghini the Revuelto SV features an even more striking design, enhanced aerodynamics with increased downforce, a newly developed suspension with racing-inspired adjustable passive dampers, next-generation CCM-R Plus carbon-ceramic brakes and bespoke Bridgestone Potenza Race R tyres.
The SV is a continuation of this very important V12 model line within Lamborghini and has its own character with the new front end, fixed functional rear wing, the centre lock wheels, and dedicated livery characterising the new Revuelto SV as a legendary Lamborghini that remains a true Lamborghini and a true Revuelto.
“We changed the front bumper and lower splitter giving it a more ‘shark nose’ look delivering more stance in the front, so the SV has its own character, while also creating different airflow going to radiator and preparing the air for flow to the underfloor, which has also been reworked by the engineers for better aerodynamics. We wanted to have a car that is easy to drive and easy to understand and the Revuelto SV is dedicated to driving, a car that you can take to the track, but equally just take it out on the weekend and enjoy it,” explained Mr Borkert.
Aerodynamics can offer up some crazy looking cars, but Mr Borkert always has a design DNA in mind starting with the silhouette recognisable as a Lamborghini and the front and rear view. But at the same time he’s always trying the get out of his comfort zone and think in a different way while forming part of the design philosophy.

Mr Borkert explained automotive design as being like a musician, having different interpretations of their best songs in the line-up of the show, but the artist is always Automobili Lamborghini, delivering the hits on the dance floor that they have created. His challenge is to balance between every Lamborghini looking like a Lamborghini, but also being disruptive at the same time and avoiding redrawing old lines.
“If you are an artist and have Number 1 hit it is always difficult to create a second hit, and for the artist to last over the decades, there’s a need to reinvent themselves all of the time. But a Lamborghini is a Lamborghini, and I don’t want people to say they have seen a design before, so I’m always trying to create a new sound by constantly experimenting with shapes,” said Mr Borkert.
There are some Easter eggs is the cars that Mr Borkert designs, for example on the Revuelto the blades positioned on top of rear fender and reaching the roof have a Miura inspiration, but this was not done on purpose and on the Revuelto it has evolved in an original way.
“The Revuelto SV is stunning from every perspective, the Y shape is the signature of the Revuelto, creating such a strong statement that you can see it coming from a long way away and this is how I’m trying to design cars, so that they have a big impact. The rear view also looks spectacular, standing behind the car, you see the hexagon exhaust pipes and the engine is exposed like a jet plane,” described Mr Borkert.
Personalisation enables customers from around the world to create something truly their own and Mr Borkert has a dream that every Lambo will be an individual spec. Adrenaline can be influenced by colours as well and for Lamborghini they need to be at the boldest level of creation and on the Revuelto SV there are 400 colours available, with the option of a black roof or exposed carbon fibre. Lamborghini also put a lot of thought into the selection of the launch colours, Rosso Efesto and Azzurro Thetys for the Revuelto SV, but if he had to pick a favourite it would be the Rosso Efesto for Mr Borkert.

The SV logo can also be placed in different positions including on the rear shoulder, in the door with Italian flag on the side plate or as a big SV that incorporates the air intake behind the door on driver’s side and from passenger side you can see it in the side mirror.
The interior of the new Revuelto SV embodies the purest form of the “Feel-like-pilot” philosophy. This includes not only the sleek, highly driver-focused dashboard but also the latest generation of Lamborghini steering wheels, featuring a control layout inspired by motorsports, creating an immersive connection between driver and machine.
The Lamborghini Revuelto transforms into a completely different car depending on the selected driving mode—from a daily super sportscar to an uncompromising track machine. In Strada mode, every drive becomes a comfortable experience, gentle throttle response, and precise traction control for everyday use. Drivers seeking more dynamism can switch to Sport mode, which sharpens V12 engine and vehicle dynamic responsiveness, turning corners into pure pleasure. For the racetrack, Corsa mode is ready: minimal traction control, and maximum power—perfect for mastering every corner aggressively and precisely.
For the first time, Lamborghini introduces the dedicated Pilota driving mode on the Revuelto SV, delivering an even more engaging and customisable track driving experience. Activated via a dedicated rotary knob on the steering wheel, Pilota mode unlocks a highly customized driving setup built around a bespoke five-stage traction control system, derived directly from Lamborghini’s GT3 racing experience.

“You can enjoy the interior whether you are just sitting in the car or you are driving fast on a racetrack, we wanted it to be easy for you to find the functions, so the driver doesn’t have to be the world champion of navigating the infotainment screen. On a personal note, my son particularly liked the passenger screen, as he could see the gears and the speed we were doing,” added Mr Borkert.
For more than 50 years, Lamborghini’s Super Veloce models have played a central role in the brand identity of the Sant’Agata-based sports car manufacturer. They represent the most extreme and powerful variant of an existing model and embody Lamborghini’s uncompromising performance philosophy, starting with the 1971 Miura SV, through the Diablo SV and Murciélago LP 670-4 SV, all the way to the Aventador SV.
Automobili Lamborghini has always been future driven, authentic and brave with the ‘unexpected’ being part of their design DNA, which is never at a standstill. With the new Lamborghini Revuelto SV, Lamborghini continues this tradition in a unique way, translating its relentless search for the extreme into unprecedented driving experience and delivering another Number 1 hit for fans to enjoy.
