Last night was the Grand Opening of Cadillac’s first Australian Experience Centre in the iconic Rosebery Engine Yards, Sydney. This historic location, known for its legacy of innovation and excellence, is the perfect home for Cadillac, a brand that champions big dreams and bold ambitions.

Amid this rich history, customers and notable guests were treated to the next chapter of the timeless elegance of Cadillac in Australia and New Zealand. In a night of entertainment including a performance by singer-songwriter Thndo from The Voice, guests indulged in locally-sourced culinary delights, sipped on expertly crafted cocktails by Australia’s top and very entertaining mixologists, including a signature ‘Cadillac’ cocktail and were the first to experience the all-electric LYRIQ within this iconic setting.

For more than a century, Cadillac has been driving innovation and pioneering the highest standards of luxury. The arrival of the LYRIQ in Australia and New Zealand will bring the next generation of electric vehicles. The LYRIQ encapsulates Cadillac’s impressive history of innovation, technology, and bold design, bringing it into a modern and dynamic world.

Rory Harvey, Executive Vice President & President General Motors Global Markets, Shilpan Amin, Senior Vice President & President General Motors International, and Jess Bala, the Managing Director of General Motors Australia & New Zealand all spoke at the event, emphasising the importance of the LYRIQ in Cadillac’s model line-up and its release in Australia and New Zealand, the first market that the factory-built right-hand drive models have been made available.

Guests were also exclusively told before the rest of the world that Cadillac has confirmed the 2026 LYRIQ-V will be the first electric SUV to earn the V-Series badge. Launching early next year, LYRIQ-V pushes the performance pedigree of the V-Series sub-brand to new heights.

The LYRIQ-V will be offered in select markets around the world in both left-hand-drive and right-hand-drive, including the U.S., Canada, Australia, and New Zealand. More markets will be announced at a later date. V-Series, which celebrated its 20th anniversary this year, is Cadillac’s performance sub-brand and serves as a benchmark for performance and innovation for General Motors. In the EV era, V-Series vehicles will be characterized by their exceptional performance, instantaneous acceleration, competitive range, and standard all-wheel drive.

The arrival of the new Cadillac LYRIQ in Australia and New Zealand signals the dawning of a new age of vehicle propulsion, courtesy of the new model’s fully electric powertrain. As a new luxury EV offering for the Australia & New Zealand market, it was imperative that any charging solution needed to align with brand values and customer expectations associated with Cadillac.

That is why every new Cadillac LYRIQ in Australia will come with one-year free public charging as standard and then, depending on a customer’s lifestyle, the owner is invited to choose between an additional two-years of free public charging or the complimentary supply and standard installation of a standard 7.4kW home electric vehicle charger.

The Cadillac LYRIQ offers high-speed DC fast charging for use when away from home, enabling customers to add up to 128km of range in 10-minutes when charging at a public charge station. To deliver these charging benefits, Cadillac has announced it will partner with carefully selected, established, and respected charging suppliers in Australia for public and at-home solutions.

In Australia, Cadillac will partner with Chargefox to provide LYRIQ owners with public charging across their national network. For home charging solutions, Cadillac has selected JET Charge to deliver and install a 7.4kW Autel unit to customers who select this option at purchase.

Chargefox is Australia’s leading EV charging platform, featuring thousands of EV chargers all over the country. Owned by the mobility clubs of Australia including NRMA, RACV, RACQ, RAA, RAC and RACT Chargefox makes EV charging simple, affordable, and accessible for all.

JET Charge was created in 2013 to supply and install electric vehicle chargers to support and accelerate the growth of EV sales in Australia. In that time, it has become the country’s leading provider of fast, safe and highly rated home EV charging solutions and has in excess of 10,000 customers.

Cadillac LYRIQ is powered by GM’s EV battery, a flexible and modular construction which delivers outstanding power, range, and performance. GM’s EV battery is modular and allows engineers to optimise battery energy storage and layout for EV’s of all shapes and sizes.

A key benefit is that each vehicle constructed on the platform is built with a specific configuration of battery modules and electric drive units to provide a one-of-a-kind performance tailored to each vehicle’s goals.

In the case of the Cadillac LYRIQ, the battery modules are arranged within the battery pack horizontally across the vehicle underbody. The battery pack was designed as an integral part of the vehicle structure to create a safer, higher-performing vehicle. The horizontal arrangement of the battery modules facilitates LYRIQ’s low-slung, aggressive SUV profile and sporty performance attributes.

An industry-first Wireless Battery Management System communication module allows individual battery cells to coordinate while reducing the amount of wire required compared with traditional electric vehicles. With less battery space devoted to wires, more cells can be included in the same amount of space, allowing for a more energy-dense, efficient battery which delivers improved range.

LYRIQ’s Common Battery Cells feature a state-of-the-art nickel-manganese-cobalt-aluminium (NCMA) chemistry, which was designed to reduce the cobalt content in the batteries by more than 70%, a major advancement in battery technology. Cadillac LYRIQ features an eight year/160,000km Electric Vehicle Propulsion Battery Warranty.

The launch of the new Cadillac LYRIQ also heralds the arrival of the ‘Cadillac Confidence’ programme for owners in Australia, a benefits package which supports the premium experience expected of the new model.

Available as standard and in addition to complimentary and comprehensive charging solutions, Cadillac Confidence is designed as a premium wrap-around service and provides reassurance and support for all LYRIQ owners. Headlining the standard support for every new LYRIQ is as follows:

  • five-years unlimited kilometre factory vehicle warranty,
  • five-years roadside assistance
  • five-years scheduled servicing.

The package is transferable from one owner to the next, provided terms and conditions associated with the warranty have been adhered to.

The all-new MY25 Cadillac LYRIQ is competitively priced, with the Luxury variant available from $117,000 and the Sport variant available from $119,000. Pricing for both variants includes GST and LCT, but excludes government charges, on-road costs, and optional extras. Visit www.cadillacanz.com for more information.
