On the sidelines of the Australian launch overlooking the beautiful Sydney Harbour we spoke to Jade Tang, Head of Marketing, Segway -Ninebot. Ms Tang’s journey in tech started with smartphones and expanded to smartwatches, earbuds, and laptops. Now, she is thrilled to be focusing on new modes of transportation with Segway products. In her current role as the Head of Marketing for Segway Australia, Ms Tang oversees all marketing activities for Segway-Ninebot, driving brand growth through innovative strategies and ensuring that their cutting-edge products reach and benefit their customers.

“Introducing the latest technology and helping people adopt these innovations to improve their lives has always given me a profound sense of achievement,” Ms Tang told Driven Women Magazine.

Notable projects for Ms tang this year included organising the Roborock 2024 New Products launch event in Cairns, planning the Segway electric motorbike launch in the Australian market, and preparing for the grand opening of the Segway flagship store at Robina Shopping Centre in early August. This diverse experience has equipped her with a comprehensive understanding of the consumer tech landscape and a passion for driving innovation and adoption of new technologies.

These recent highlights included two major launch events for different brands within three months of returning from maternity leave. Both products received extensive media and consumer response, significantly boosting brand awareness and leading to a substantial increase in sales.

“My journey into my current role with Segway was driven by a long-standing passion for consumer technology and a desire to continuously push the boundaries of innovation. Throughout my career, I’ve always been fascinated by how advanced technologies can transform everyday lives and improve efficiency, convenience, and overall quality of life.

Working with smartphones, smartwatches, earbuds, and laptops provided me with a solid foundation in understanding consumer needs and the importance of effective marketing in tech adoption. The opportunity to transition into a new and exciting segment of technology—personal transportation solutions—was a natural next step.

When the opportunity arose as the Head of Marketing for Segway-Ninebot in Australia, I saw it as a chance to leverage my experience in a new and dynamic field. Segway’s innovative products and vision for the future of transportation resonated with my own professional goals. I was excited by the challenge of introducing these cutting-edge solutions to the Australian market and helping consumers see the benefits of integrating them into their lives.

It’s a perfect blend of my passion for technology and my commitment to driving successful marketing initiatives,” said Ms Tang.
