Women in Wheels is a vibrant and inclusive club, creating a safe and supportive space for women in the United Kingdom to connect, bond, and embark on exciting motoring adventures.
The club was formed in July 2023 by Tania, a global award-winning wedding and event planner based in Sussex, whilst she was standing by the Goodwood track. The invite only club now has 35 exclusive members and 105 members that wish to stay updated via email, but do not currently qualify for exclusive membership. As a busy mum and entrepreneur, Tania always believed in balancing work and play. Yet, she noticed a gap in the automotive world, a lack of inclusive spaces for women who shared a passion for cars, adventure, and luxury. That’s where Women in Wheels comes in.
“We believe in providing a welcoming environment where women from all walks of life can come together, share experiences, and build lasting connections. Whether you’re a seasoned driver, a newbie to the wheel, or simply curious about the world of automobiles, our club warmly welcomes you with a membership for each category. Our primary goal is to foster a sense of unity and camaraderie among women who share a passion for the open road,” Women in Wheels Founder, Tania told Driven Women Magazine.
The club considers members with all kinds of cars, and plans events where everyone can take part, but to join the exclusive membership, women would need to be driving a classy classic, supercar or performance car. Tania normally invites ladies to join or if they apply to join, she would vet them first.
Membership at Women in Wheels provides women access to a diverse network of professionals, enthusiasts, and experts in the automotive industry. Whether women are looking to expand their professional network, seek mentorship, or simply connect with fellow enthusiasts, their community offers ample opportunities for networking and collaboration. Women in Wheels allows members to forge meaningful connections, exchange ideas, and cultivate relationships that can benefit members both personally and professionally.
By joining Women in Wheels, women become part of a movement that is driving change and making a positive impact in the automotive industry. Membership not only benefits women personally but also contributes to the collective efforts to promote diversity, inclusion, and equality within the automotive community. Together, Tania aims to break down barriers, challenge stereotypes, and pave the way for a more inclusive and equitable future for all.
“As a member of Women in Wheels, you become part of a supportive and empowering community dedicated to advancing the role of women in the automotive industry. Whether you’re navigating career challenges, pursuing your passion projects, or seeking inspiration and encouragement, our community is here to support you every step of the way. Benefits include mentorship opportunities, educational resources, and a supportive network of peers who understand your journey and are committed to helping you succeed,” added Tania.
Women in Wheels is an organisation aimed at empowering women who want to meet like-minded ladies, drive their cars and have fun. The goals of Women in Wheels are:
- Empowerment through the promotion of gender equality by advocating for equal opportunities for women in traditionally male-dominated automotive sectors.
- Networking and community building through networking events where women can connect, share experiences, and build professional networks.
- Community Support through the creation of a supportive community where members can share advice, resources, and encouragement.
- Recognition and representation by celebrating achievements that highlight and celebrate the achievements of women in the automotive and transportation sectors.
- Increasing visibility by working to increase the representation of women in leadership roles and high-visibility positions within these industries.
By pursuing these objectives, Women in Wheels aims to create a more inclusive, equitable, and supportive environment for women in the automotive industries, fostering their growth and success.
“There are no Divas, no judging and everyone can just be who they want. Meeting and networking with empowering women and having a good giggle, where everyone is on the same page and we are getting together to just be us,” said Tania when I asked her what her favourite things about the Women in Wheels club.
The types of events and activities undertaken with members varies depending on the type of membership they have. A variety of events are held so everyone can attend, so no members miss out. From drifting to attending national car shows and for exclusive members, road trips across the UK and Europe, like the one recently held in the Cotswolds, lunches, dinners and exclusive events or tailored with women in mind.
Alliah, who has a number of Mustangs, a Ferrari, and a Lamborghini, was part of the recent Cotswolds event. Alliah is a self-confessed car fanatic and has been waiting for something like Women in Wheels to come about for a long time.
“I am a business owner, a mother and a wife, my family is everything to me but so is my business, without this I would not be or we would not be where we are now. Work hard, play harder,” said Alliah.
Being with like-minded ladies who can talk about cars, but they don’t have too, and a place where she can go that’s a safe space are just some of the aspects that Alliah enjoys the most about being a part of Women in Wheels. When she’s driving, Alliah feels free, she can just shut herself off from the rest of the world and drive, and end up in a place that she wants to be in.
“I would definitely recommend joining [Women in Wheels], us girls need to stick together, it’s [motoring] not just a man’s world,” urged Alliah.
Whether you’re a seasoned professional, an aspiring enthusiast, or simply passionate about cars, Women in Wheels welcomes you with open arms. Join their community today and unlock a world of opportunities, connections, and empowerment. Visit their website www.womeninwheel.com for more information.
