Savic Motorcycles C-Series

Savic Motorcycles is a high-performance electric motorcycle company based in Melbourne that is turning heads in the industry with their impressive performance, modern design and commitment to sustainability. Founded in 2016 by Perth local Dennis Savic, Savic Motorcycles is a young and innovative Australian company that has embraced a sleek and futuristic design that stands out from the crowd.

It’s not just the looks of these bikes that are impressive. The flagship motorcycle, the C-Series is incredibly powerful and efficient with the top spec Alpha model boasting 200+ Nm of torque and over 200km of combined city/highway riding range on a single charge. It can go from 0 – 100km in just 3.5 seconds, making it a formidable contender for many internal combustion motorcycles. But with these impressive performance stats, many find electric motorcycles daunting.

In addition to the impressive performance, electric motorcycles are easier to maintain. Say goodbye to oil changes, filters, spark plugs, coolant, chain maintenance and more. Charging is relatively simple as well. The motorcycle comes with a standard Type 2 charger which can be plugged into any wall socket, minimising the need for any special equipment at home.

“When people hear about or experience the instant power behind electric vehicles, they immediately think about how dangerous and untamed that acceleration is going to be,” said Alexandra Bromley, Chief Marketing Officer of Savic Motorcycles.

“But that’s not the case. For electric motorcycles, the acceleration is smooth and precise, traction control will keep you planted firmly on the road and there are various different pre-programmed riding modes with varying ranges of throttle response and power to keep you comfortable and enjoying the ride.”

With a background in the automotive industry across four wheels and two, most notably working for Harley-Davidson, Alexandra has ridden and owned many different styles of motorcycles over the years.

“Personally, I find electric motorcycles easy and fun to ride because there is no clutch or gears, no engine noise, loud exhaust, heat or vibrations. You simply swing your leg over, twist the throttle and ride off into the sunset.”

“We feel that the ease of use and ownership will attract more female riders to the world of motorcycles,” Alexandra told Driven Women Magazine.

Veronica is customer #33 at Savic Motorcycles, with a custom C-Series Alpha in a Rose Gold finish on order. Veronica was first attracted to riding motorcycles after her step father took her for a ride on the back of his Harley and from there, she was hooked. She quickly researched how to get her motorcycle licence and was able to get it through QRide in Queensland.

“I was blown away by the huge amount of freedom it introduced to my travel options living in the city. It was easy to find parking, practical and cost-effective, especially as I was a student at the time,” said Veronica.

Fast forward to today and Veronica is still riding a motorcycle, currently a Honda Hornet CB900F.

“The same things which drew me to riding still hold true. I love the freedom it provides me, being able to safely filter through horrible traffic and still make it home to my kids.

When I had my first child my obstetrician convinced me I needed to give up my motorbike and be a “responsible” parent.  I spent years trying to find a way to get a bike back into my life after realising I was missing a part of my identity.  I’ve found it affords me the balance I need as a working mum, to get home exactly when my children need me without having a dependence on public transport or contributing to the traffic by sitting in a car.  I also love those (admittedly now occasional) weekends when I get to do a ride through the country-side with my husband, drawing in the fresh air which you totally miss sitting in other vehicles,” Veronica added.

“I happened to watch Long Way Up (TV Series with Charley Boorman and Ewan McGregor where they ride electric motorcycles across South and Central America) and was fascinated by the concept of having an electric motorcycle.

I started researching what was available and found this little startup company called Savic Motorcycles proposing an Australian designed and made electric motorbike. It was everything all the other electric motorbikes on the market were not – affordable, available in Australia, powerful, and actually looked nice.

If I was going to make the switch from my current beloved bike, it needed to be special.  After watching countless YouTube videos about the company and their vision, and listening online on their launch day I signed up right away. I knew I’d found a match. I’m looking forward to having a unique bike that’s beautiful, economical, and aligns with my values,” said Veronica.

Not only has Savic Motorcycles produced an impressive motorcycle, they’re also committed to sustainability. The C-Series is made with recyclable aluminium and the batteries will be collected and reused for home energy storage. Plus, since it’s electric, it produces zero ongoing emissions, making it an excellent choice for those who want to reduce their carbon footprint.

Savic Motorcycles is a company that’s breaking down barriers to riding a motorcycle in a male-dominated industry. Their impressive performance, modern design and commitment to sustainability make them a great choice for women who want to ride in style while reducing their impact on the environment.
