Today, Iron Dames has announced that promising racer, Natalia Granada, will become the first female driver to represent the project in karting marking another significant milestone moment in its history.
The young 14-year-old Spaniard who first started karting when she was just 11 will compete in a number of prestigious racing competitions throughout the 2023 calendar, including the IAME Euro Series, Spanish Karting Championship (CEK) and the WSK Open Series and WSK Final Cup Champions Cup.
This latest announcement reinforces the Iron Dames’ focus on inspiring and supporting young females in the very early stages of their careers. This will allow them to develop in the best possible way, continuing to inspire more women to consider a career in motorsport and follow in their footsteps.
Iron Dames Project Founder, Deborah Mayer, said: “Natalia is a promising driver and we look forward to fully supporting her throughout the season. Having Natalia on board marks a significant milestone in the overall aims of the Iron Dames project.
“In addition to being a proud partner of the FIA Women in Motorsport Rising Star programme, we now see the time is right for us to step up our support of young talent in a management role, providing even further support to help more females to get into motorsport.
“To ensure that our project continues to make strides forward in its overall goals, we intend to support and promote more and more women in the infancy stages of their careers.”
