What’s new in the EV world this week

MG Motor has revealed its first ever pure electric vehicle, the MG EZS.

Unveiled at the Auto Guangzhou 2018, the new MG EZS is the electric evolution of the marque’s flagship compact SUV. The reveal of the new model follows solid growth of the iconic MG brand since its return to the market.

The MG EZS is expected to arrive in China and Europe in 2019. Availability in Australia has yet to be confirmed.

Meanwhile Tesla has released Software Version 9.0 via their over-the-air software update system. It’s the most substantial update yet, including a refined and simplified user interface, along with entirely new features for Model S, Model X, and Model 3.

The forward-facing camera can now be used as a Dashcam, and you can start in-car navigation from your maps app on your mobile device. For improved safety, Tesla has made enhancements to Blindspot Monitoring, and introduced 360 degree visualisation through the eight external cameras on each of their vehicles.

And in true Tesla style for fun when you are parked, you can now use your steering wheel and touchscreen to play classic Atari arcade games.

It would be great to hear what Tesla owners think of the latest software version, tell us using @drivenwomenmag of Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
